We live in Oakland, CA, USA.
Where or how did you meet?
We ran into each other over several years at capoeira events around the Bay Area. We finally got together in 2017.
How long have you trained Capoeira?
Fogueira: I started in 2001, so 20 years ago, but I did not train consistently during most of the time.
Mestre Xangô: I started in 1996 and have trained non-stop for 25 years.
What do you love about Capoeira?
Mestre Xangô: Culture, community, and wellness.
Fogueira: Capoeira is fun. It's humbling, and at the same time builds confidence.
